My only hope is that because of my love of nature and the animals in it, my artwork expresses this love. Although many of my artworks are of landscapes and wildlife, horses are one of my favorite subjects.

For each piece of artwork I choose just the right medium to capture the essence of that particular subject matter. I am very meticulous, using detail to create realism.

It was suggested to me that I should teach art classes. This idea interested me; I hoped to inspire others in their artistic abilities. I have been teaching art lessons for six years privately and in the Williamston and Haslett Community Education Programs and really enjoy it.

I am an accomplished artist with two degrees from Lansing Community Colleges well regarded art program.

One is an Associate Degree in Applied Arts, Commercial Art Graphic Design; the other is an Associate Degree in Applied Arts, Commercial Art Illustration. While at Lansing Community College I was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Fraternity.

I am a member of the distinguished Equine Art Guild. I also belong to the Canine Art Guild, Mid-Michigan Art Guild, the Shiawassee Arts Council, and the Great Lakes Pastel Society. I have artwork in galleries and have participated in many prominent art shows around the state, one of which was the Equestrian’s Eye Fine Art Show in Grand Rapids. I was exhibited in the North American Wildlife Expo in Lansing, where some of the best and well known wildlife artists participate.  I have also had artwork exhibited and sold at the prestigious Birmingham Community House Art Exhibition and Sale for several years. Most recently my artwork was accepted into the nationally juried art show; Art Show At The Dog Show which was held in Kansas this spring. It is the most nationally recognized canine art shows in the country.

I have donated limited edition prints of my artwork for many worthy causes, some of which have been for wildlife artwork auctions in the Flint and Lansing areas, the proceeds of which go toward financing wildlife rescue associations in Michigan.

I have won numerous awards, including: the People’s Choice Award at the first annual Williamston Fine Art Show; a jury award at the Our Town Art Exhibition and Sale in Birmingham, Michigan; an Honorable Mention Winner in the National Publication Magazine, The Pastel Journal; and I was a finalist in the 20th Annual Art Competition for another national publication magazine, The Artist’s Magazine. My artwork has also been in the national publication magazine, Horses in Art. I was selected to create a sculpture as part of the exhibit for Art On Wheels in downtown Lansing, Michigan. Recently my artwork was used for the cover of nationally distributed catalog, which has over 500,000 readers. I have had articles written about myself and my artwork in nationally publicized magazines. Just this winter I was honored to be nominated for the 2007 Lansing Community College Distinguished Alumni Award.  My most recent awards I received was a First Place in the Mid Michigan Art Guild’s annual “Twelve by Twelve” Show, Best of Show in the Mid Michigan Art Guild’s Spring all media art exhibit,

Artistic Excellence Award at the “28th Annual Michigan Artists Competition”. I also won an Honorable Mention at the 24th Annual Brighton Fine Art Festival. I had three of my pastel paintings excepted into an exhibit for the Great Lakes Pastel Society member show being held at the Toledo Museum of Art. My most recent commission was a portrait for the nationally known celebrity, Michael Waltrip of NASCAR fame.

Thank you for taking the time to read a little information about myself and my artwork.
